mcspool
Further to some pictures posted of Mulberry harbour remains across Europe (UK, France, Holland), here's picture of concrete pontoons (Beetles) for Mulberry Harbours. If I understand correctly, they are located somewhere in Scotland. - Hanno

John Briscoe
The photograph is of Beetles at Cairnryan, approx 6 miles north from Stranraer, Dumfries & Galloway. There was a military port here during the second world war. These are just some of the items that are still in place. Many parts for the Mulberry Harbour project were manufactured here. The Beetles are at Old House Point, an area that is to become the new short channel link terminal for ferries to Larne in Ireland. There is some suggestion that one might be saved and removed to a museum before building work commences.
