poppypiesdad
Hi all just had my dad up to look at the pig he's ex RASC and he brought up a point . Do i need to add one of the lead substitutes to the unleaded fuel in the tank like these sort of things http://www.classic-spares.com/category1.php?c1_id=38&c1_name=Fuel%20Additives or is just straight unleaded in the tank ? And why do you need to in old cars ? valve ware? pistons ? Jamie (provider of stupid questions to the masses since 1971)
0 MiketheBike
Jamie, I believe that Rolls Royce issued an update to say the B60 is OK on unleaded, however (and I can hear those "snake oil" shouts right now)... I dropped one of those fuel catalysts (the metal pebbles in a wire bag) into my Ferret fuel tank, and it appears to be running a hell of a lot smoother. I want to do a few tank refills before I am 100% sure, but initial impressions are good. Mick
0 fv1609
Always used unleaded in the Humbers, never seen any damage on the valves I've looked at.
0 Adam Elkins
Unleaded is fine, as Mike said RR issued a update to say its ok for B series to run on unleaded. I think there is a page on the subject on here, but don't ask me where. Do you have a manual??? Clive beat me to it.
