Joris
Does anybody know what the building costs in 1944 was for a B17 Bomber, a Sherman Tank and an aircraft carrier? Other info about Jeeps and Dodges would be welcome too!
mcspool
Joris, See Sherman's 1945 prices: http://web.inter.nl.net/users/spoelstra/g104/cost.htm Note these are prices, not manufacturing costs. HTH, Hanno

mcspool
Thanks, I thought they were more expensive then that but in 1944 it was a lot of money? I don´t know what a weeks wage was for someone working on the assembly line back in WW2, we would have to look into the Big Mac Index, errr, Mars Bar Index, wasn´t it? But Sherman price tag of $45,000 in 1945 would about $421,875 in 1999. H.
Joris
Which is not very much when you compare it to a modern tank! I had not a clue that B17s were so expensive...
