paul connor Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 my Zenith carb seems to be giving trouble? only had this today-but was dark so did not have time to look.. thought I would brainstorm on here as usual:) When you rev the engine the revs stick for a few seconds? I cant see a fray on the cable from the accelerator. Do you think the float in the carb could be stuck? or a jet? before I tackle any situation I aways like to have public opinon as you all know:) Its a new carb (1 year old) linkage seems to be tangle free and move free, only when it runs deos it seem to stick? Chrisg Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 It could be the weather what ever (if any) lubricant is a bit thick Quote
Adam Elsdon Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 If it still isnt coming back off fast enough, put a return spring on the throttle linkage, done this to my Pig which needed a bit of toe under the accelerator to fully return it. Quote
Guest catweazle (Banned Member) Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Check the return spring on the bellcrank fited to the linkage.you can tension it by undoing the nut and twisting it the do up the nut. Quote
paul connor Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 fixed, seems the gunk on the linkage was the culprit Quote
