Tony B
Intrestingly this was on the back of the map reading book I've just got from Chris. I assume it is Northern Hemisphere only. I'll try it against a magnetic compass.

Kuno
Great! Guesss it is since 66 years that a 'Bagnold type sun compass' was on Libyan soil. Fine piece of work. My only problem is that I will now have to reove the roof of my Landrover to have the sun compass propperly working....

Runflat
Don't think you have mentioned the Cole sun compass yet. As that one was developed in Egypt for use in N. Africa by the British Army, early in the war it is another contender. I bought a new one in its case a few years ago, they do still turn up. One on ebay at the moment @ £190 starting price: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Cole-Pattern-Mk-2-Sun-Compass-WW2-military-vehicle-/170544501272?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item27b53e9218

cris
Hi Alvin, I’d be interested in a replica, if you manage to keep the cost low without skyrocketing it, with an affordable price, I’d be very glad to be in your list of “buyers” Thanks
gordonb
Any news of a 3D printable Bagnold? Google does not show anything out there.
