Dodgey
Just thought you would like to see how to install a new Jeep starter ring on the flywheel and at the same time have a BBQ! This is the first time I have tried to put photos on the HMVF so fingures crossed. First cut the existing ring away from the flywheel Heat up the BBQ and drop the new ring onto it, cook for 15 minuets Don't try to pick it up by hand! Ready to be refitted! If anyone's interested will post more of the engine rebuild?
Jack
Hi Dodgey. Like it! Is this how it is done in the TM and it would be good to have some pictures of the rebuild, you may want to put them up in the Blog/restoration section. This reminds me of how my Great Grandfather would 'tire' cart wheels 8)
Mark
Hi Dodgy Thanks for that as I will be doing mine very soon, do you have to get the teeth in a certain place or it does not matter, make a blog of the rebuild as some of us have done. Joris
Very interesting! If you'd like to post more pictures about the rebuilt, please! It's always good to see how others rebuild their engine.
