Hi. My name is Al and I’m new on this site. I currently own a 130 Pulse ambulance Land Rover which has been modified for an overland journey. It still retains nods to its past though.

Previously  I have part owned a CommercQ4, a 109 SIII GS Land Rover, a small fleet of civilian Land Rovers including a six cylinder 2.6 Safari and an 88”.

I have used and maintained Land Rovers at work including TD 127”, 110s with the original 2.5 diesel, and later 200 and 300 tdi’s.

I have joined this site to seek advice on the differences between my 130XD Wolf and the civilian versions.

In particular I noted that the bottom of my timing case cover is not drilled and tapped to fit the wading plugs I am used to using. There is a drain hole but what size plug does it need? I have read that the Wolf timing case differs and is connected to turbo boost pipe to pressurise when wading. Is this sufficient to stop water entering? Or should I plug the hole when wading.

Any advice is gratefully received.

Kind Regards

Al.
