naaficook
Hello group ! Recently I've bought some british WW2 blackout covers for my Daimler Dingo (Restoration in progress). With friends we discussed about british and canadian military blackout covers, and suddenly we realised we knew nothing about the Australian blackout covers used during WW2. We suppose that the Canadian produced vehicles (CMP) came with matching canadian covers, but what about AUSTRALIAN PRODUCED blackout covers ?? The very little info I found was about a set being stored in a round tin can ("cookie jar"). It was described as having a small round glass (about a watch-size) with a blue and a clear glass lens. A hinged lid would be fitted to allow a full light beam to be used when needed. QUESTION : Has any one additional photos of original WW2 Australian blackout covers? Or additional instructions ? Why the 2 different glass lenses, one blue and one clear ? Thanks for your help !
