REME 245
Is there any ways of restoring new old stock Cork Seals which have dried out and become brittle. Can they be soaked in anything?

I find that in general, old stock cork gaskets that have shrunk and soaking them in water still does not get them back to original size and better to make new ones. Tony B
Try some 50/50 Liquid paraffin White soft Paraffin ointment from the chemist. I'm finding very useful for softening all sorts of stuff like rubber and leather , including skin!
Diana and Jackie
Liquid Paraffin is a mineral oil, not the best thing to put on rubber (depending on the rubber of course) The best safe thing for rubber is silicon oil/grease.
