marvinthemartian
Does anyone know what this tool would've been used for. Cheers Simon
Wendelspanswick
An O ring stretcher? Close the 2 jaws, slid on an O ring then close the shaped half to stop the O ring pinging off. Squeeze the handles, place the opened ring over a shaft and then release. (Just a guess). Edited October 18, 2017 by Wendelspanswick
marvinthemartian
Thought that too, but then why would it need multiple grooves.
Gordon_M
It's going to be something obvious, like for sizing / reshaping those brass olives you used to find on all the pipe joints. Put a damaged olive on the plain round jaw, find the appropriate groove, squeeze, turn it round a bit and repeat till it is the right shape. To fit the different diameters of the rubber used to make the O-rings, so securely holding the 0-ring without damaging the rubber? trevor
