Le Prof
Hi All, The BBC has just published 4000 photographs of soldiers taken by a French husband and wife team that have been recently discovered. The photos were of allied soldiers billeted in their village during WW1, and were recently discovered in an attic there. The quality of the shots is excellent, and there are a fair few vehicles interspersed with the soldiers. They are appealing for help identifying the soldiers, but I guess they'd welcome information on the vehicles too. More details of the discovery, plus how to view the pictures is on the link below. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/3LVxjjZghNQW2LJhx1SsX0t/the-lost-tommies Best Regards, Prof
fv1609
Thank you that is super link. My eyes are bit befuddled trying to spot my grandfather & his brothers. I'll have have rest & try again later. I'm impressed with the quality of detail & that so many managed to smile & some with a saucy smirk. Would be wonderful if you could only talk to them & see what their take on the situation was. Redherring
A big hear, hear, from over here. Be nice if they could group them into units.. ID the units first? Make serrching for our 'relies' easier. Absolutely stunning.
BosunAl
Fabulous find! Let's hope others will be found. Added several images to my vehicle collection . . . including two never-before-seen omnibuses. Bosun Al
