RoryMc
Hi folks! We got this trailer from a neighbor about 5 years ago. I have absolutely no knowledge on military vehicles. Can anybody give me some information about it? http://imgur.com/NHNHx5z http://imgur.com/pi8CGeh http://imgur.com/1guL72N Cheers Rory
Runflat
As the plate says, it's a 10cwt mortar trailer! It dates from WW2 and looks very original - though the tow hitch should be on top of the frame rather than underneath.
fv1609
Rory judging by the 10 cwt designation yours is a wartime trailer. However there is a general presumption that these were used in WW2 only & everything else used after was a Brockhouse or a Sankey. In fact in the 1950s-60s later versions of these trailers were still being used. EMERs continued to be issued into the mid 1960s. The more modern version of yours was: Trailer, 1/2 Ton, 4.2in, Mortar Ammunition No.1, 2 Wheeled Looks like this in the 1960 parts list. RoryMc
Thanks for the information people. I am thinking of selling the trailer as my dad and myself are more interested in vintage tractors i'm afraid . Its been sitting in the shed the last 5 years and been out twice. We're at the stage that we need to free up space for other projects. Would there be much of an interest in a trailer like this? I would like to know what you would consider a fair asking price considering its condition. I hope i'm not breaking any forum rules here.

Tony Lawrence
Hi folks! We got this trailer from a neighbor about 5 years ago. I have absolutely no knowledge on military vehicles. Can anybody give me some information about it? http://imgur.com/NHNHx5z http://imgur.com/pi8CGeh http://imgur.com/1guL72N Cheers Rory It is a 10 cwt 4.2" mortar trailer with the tow hook mounted upside down but interestingly it is the variety with the combination of both opening headboard and tail gate that only seem to appear with the box type tow ring housing. I would be interested in purchasing this, having restored an Orme Evans version last year as seen in the 10cwt trailer thread). Judging by the photos a lot of the bits and bobs appear to still be present but the timber would have to be replaced (not cheap using ash)
