Richard Farrant
Can anyone identify these two signs or emblems? They will have a connection with the British Army I feel sure, but have never been able to find out. The round one way not be the correct way up, I feel it would have been with sword point upwards. cheers Richard
Tony B
I think the top one is something to do with IUKADGE, Improved United Kingdom Air Defence Ground Enviroment project.

Thanks Tony, I thought it would be something obscure!

Richard Farrant
RICHARD on the second transfer the Middlesex home guard during the second world war used the same design Thanks for that lead Wally. I doubt this transfer dates back that far, due to where it came from, but it could be a TA unit in later times from that area. cheers Richard
MatchFuzee
Is the second sign British or could it be from a commonwealth country? As the Royal Army Physical Training Corps have crossed swords and a crown, I wonder if another country is using scimitars and a crown for their Physical Trainers. wally dugan
the scimitars are in fact SEAXES which was a SAXON WEAPON the crown is also saxon in design the use of seaxes appears on a couple of wartime divisional sign of ww2 if you google Middlesex home guard Wembley division you will see the same design as RICHARDS transfer its very british weapon

A flag came up on Ebay, with the exact shield with seaxes and Saxon crown, but the description was assuming it was something to do with HG and only because it was found with some related items. I searched more in to this but found nothing firm. It is very doubtful this transfer has anything to do with HG due to where it came from, but might be something to do with a TA unit from the area. Think I have another obscure one and will search it out to see if anyone knows. Keep the ideas coming as it might just give a clue.
