Kloud Nine
Hi Folks, I'm looking to change over to electronic ignition on my K9, however I have the twin points screened dizzy. I may be able to fit a DM6 dizzy but it would be easier to just replace the points on the existing one. I can't find the part No. for the points though to try and match them up with anything. Has anyone successfully converted a screened dizzy or does anyone know what the part No. is for the points? Any help very much appreciated! Cheers, C. Kloud Nine
Thanks Clive, Can't find any Lucas 410828 points online let alone an electronic match. Might have to take a punt at the whole distributor..... Cheers, C.
Richard Farrant
I think Jolley do an electronic conversion for a Daimler Dingo and that is a very similar screened distributor, the points are same part number anyhow. Worth asking Jolley, even if they need your distributor to fit it, that is not a big drama on an Austin, just note position of rotor arm and body before removing and don't turn engine over in meantime. Tony B
I have two of Frank's ignitions. One in a 12 volt Dodge one in a 6 volt. The 12 volt one has been in for about ten years no probs.
Kloud Nine
Thanks guys, I was quoted £220 + vat by Jolleys which I thought was a bit steep, for my pocket anyhow. Might have to bite the bullet. Cheers, C.
