lightweight
Ta! I have been advised that during the war, Jeeps were all green regardless of which service was using them. I had assumed that RAF ones would be blue, anyone got a definitive answer?

Hi, one publication has stated that air base jeeps were` blue`but there is pictorial evidence of different colours such as `follow me jeeps`, & desert jeeps. Early british vehicles (possibly jeeps) were painted Kahki (or dark earth matt). As for green i belive that there were several different shade of this colour in use. lightweight
Cheers ashley, I agree that 'green' covers a wide range of colours! Will go with Khaki and have magnetic insignia to allow for flexibility I think.
ashley
Hi lightweight, as far as i know Khaki, or dark earth matt was the basic colour for British vehicles C.1942 as during those days of black and white film (reconnaissance) the ground showed up in a very light colour. On the log sheet of my ford the colour on de-mob is khaki as of 1959, when according to all regulations it should have been Bronze green or stone in colour :dunno: Ashley
