Briidging Plate colours

Any one rememeber what year (approx) the bridging plates went from yellow to grey????

 

And - if poss - the colour standards for both the yellow and grey in question???

I Think it was in the early 70's that it changed from yellow to grey

 

the grey was like slate grey.

 

also some units painted opposite cam (if plate was on black paint it green and if on green paint it black

Not specified but probably Light Grey BSC631

The Golden Yellow was gloss, I have had NOS plates in the past as proof, and it was of course, used in the era of gloss Deep Bronze Green.

Thanks Richard. What prompted the "guess" was the plate on little Maud is actually a matt yellow.... Maybe it's weather-worn and started out gloss yellow.

 

What I'm thinking is if I repaint her in green and black, as she would have been in the Eighties, then the bridging plate will now be grey, not yellow whereas if I leave her in plain green as in the very late Seventies then it would either be yellow or grey. Too much work at this time to go back to the bronze green of the Sixties and early Seventies :-) :-)
