I remember one of the resto carrier threads mentioned this. Think the American/ Canadian rubber is different to the UK one's. ajmac Posted September 15, 2013 Share Posted September 15, 2013 The track return rollers had different rubber thicknesses depending on year and ended up without any cushioning at all. Road wheels always had the same rubber tyre, however the front idler wheel is only 19" dia and I think the diameter difference is down to a thinner tyre. I think you will find the Canadian and UK wheels are same width, but Australian ones were wider, due to wider track (same width as used on Vickers Light tanks). 25 pounder Posted September 16, 2013 Author Share Posted September 16, 2013 I recieved the wheels today ,; one is mint rubber , marked Firestone -made in Canada -43 , cast 43 in the rim F M O C (Ford Motor Of Canada ????) the 2nd has 1942 cast in a spoke on the wheel , smaller tyre without any markings , will post picture tomorrow;) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
