Rick W
Can an MB/GPW be registered under its original chassis/frame number even though the engine number is different? Or would it be Q plated?
Brooky
Yes Providing the vehicle is substanially complete , its the chassis number that is important
Nick Johns
Only Ford GPW's had matching engine and chassis numbers when new, Willys MB engines were used in other applications so never corresponded to the chassis number, not really of importance when registering a vehicle. Q plates are only applied to a vehicle where the year of manufacture cannot be substantiated Edited September 14, 2012 by Nick Johns
Tony B
Considering age and rebuilds it would a big ask for all numbers to match perfectly. All DVLA were intrested in in Katy's case was the chassis number for proof of age. They didn't even ask for a age report. She had been English registered then Jersey plated since 1997, but her old English number hadn't been reissued, I just asked for it back. A quick check and the export marker was removed.
