Tony B
I'd think first stop Gaydon, then Solihull itself. It is ex military mate?

Duncan76
The webpage for the archive services of the Motor Heritage Centyre at Gaydon is here: http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/store/heritage-certificates-and-archive-services/heritage-certificates.html You can order online with a chassis number, doesn't matter whether it's civvy or military. They traced the build date of my Series 3 109 ambulance with no dramas. Duncan.
ruxy
S2A started Sept. 1961 251 = 109" w.b. So - the first off would be 25100001A Suffix A , is as built at Sept. 1961 You have Suffix. H , this means 7 qty. substantial design changes after Suffix A You are seeking build date of the 21,816 off the line Now - I don't have any idea of the production rate. However - I would guestimate at 1962/63 , not based on numbers - more on the fact that ISTR most production changes happened in 1962/63 - then few changes until the major changes abt. 1976
Tony B
I seem to remeber my 1970 109 was an H.
ruxy
Possibly - I suppose, but that would mean 9 years to build 21,816 qty. 109" , ignore me - there are people who make a hobby out of this type of info. LoL
Tony B
So? Do we care? :-D It was one of the first with the headlights on the outside. A Safari 12 seat with the old 2a dash.
Rangie
One of my ambulances is 18H and it was 26th Jan 72, the other 90H and it was 2nd Feb 72. I'd say the 25th/26th Jan 72 for yours!! How's that for accuracy? :-D Alec.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks. ==== What you don't state is if it is a civilian 109" S2A or a military. Different rules apply. If military - defo a Rover 11 (headlamps in wing panels). Military 109" 251prefix at end of Rover 9 production are only up to Suffix C , unfortunately I am short of the Chassis range numbers for Rovers 10 &

.303fan
yes it is still a land-rover. but i wonder what those modifications are. i know many had to do with bulkheads and i know military ones could have the nato and brockhouse sockets (like the rover 8 tubs had) just wondering as nobody seems to know. and rover 8 or rover 9, what years should that be? our 109 is registerd as year of build: approx 1962.
