25 pounder
Prospecting a former battlefield in our neighborhood , we found some remains of the fighting that took place in september '44 some rounds .303 and 9 mm , 2" mortar tails , remains of a German gas mask , and one insign , that looks like 2 Canadian leaves . All of it having been discovered on a steep river bank , where acces isn't very easy , I assume it must have been lost at combat activities, some pictures to identifie; no markings were found on this object
robin craig
The Canadian leaf you are talking about is the Maple Leaf. Could I suggest you also post your enquiry on Maple Leaf Up Forum? R
Joris
Wow it's always amazing to find such items that have been laying there for neatly 70 years...
25 pounder
Amazing it sure is , just covered up by some grass and earth , about 1 inch deep It's hard to believe these things are still to be discovered , as there are quite some places around here where heavy action took place I'll post my question on the Maple Leaf Up forum as well
