Panzer nut
Some one has posted this on the Forces 80 face book page, what is it? Some think it is a MRLS crew members helmet. Ta Jon
matchstick
Scalp protector, used by ground-crew in the AAC to protect our noggins from rotor blades when starting helicopters. Don't know if anyone else uses them, they're not very robust.

Tony B
Might prevent the blade being damaged.
matchstick
I doubt it, but then unless we're working on Gazelle the blades aren't low enough to strike us and if the other aircraft taxi in at a tilt we don't go under til it's rectified. Just one of these health and safety rules really, according to the slightly more time served groundies it was introduced for the AH lot and spread from there. Chris Suslowicz
Basically a "bump cap" with huge cutouts so the user can wear the serious ear defenders needed around jet engines. :-D
