WWII Vehicle Signs

DCLI

Recommended Posts

Hi Marco The bumper markings would start on the passenger side with the division no then a sall gap followed by the regiment no, on the drivers side it would have the company letter followed by the vehicle no.

Example 1-32F C7 This would mean 1st Infantry Div, 32Field Artillery,

C Battery seventh vehicle.

For your vehicleit would start with 30 followed by the regtand company etc that you choose. The bonnet no cannot be known you will have to make up a suitable number.

Hope this helps you, if you need more help perhaps one of our Dutch friends can help by translating for you.

I have posted to my site a copy of the WWII TM which deals with bumper numbering. AR 850-5 dated 1942. PDF links on the bottom are for the updated version of the 850 manual dated 1945.
