44GPW
Hi all, Myself and 3 fellow Jeep owners are doing a week in Normandy next year, and planning on spending the weekend at the Solent Overlord show prior to sailing. Anyone done this? Also, can anyone recommend any campsites in the British sector in Normandy? We are sailing to Caen and plan to stay somewhere in that area for the first part of the week? Thanks Richard
Smithy
Hi all, Myself and 3 fellow Jeep owners are doing a week in Normandy next year, and planning on spending the weekend at the Solent Overlord show prior to sailing. Anyone done this? Also, can anyone recommend any campsites in the British sector in Normandy? We are sailing to Caen and plan to stay somewhere in that area for the first part of the week? Thanks Richard Hi Richard, We stopped at Chateau de Martragny when we visited in 2009 and I would recomend it to anyone. It's in a great location, just between Bayeux and Caen, which makes it easy to cover all of the British area from this campsite, and also has great facilities. http://www.chateau-martragny.com/specific/formats/index.jsp?lang=EN Scott
Degsy
Hi Richard, the municipal campsite at Asnelles is well placed for the British beaches and ideally situated for evening drives along the beach to Arromanches if the tides are right. It's a very nicely laid out site and billiard table flat.
Big ray
We have stayed a couple of times at the camp site in Ranville, only five minutes from Pegasus Bridge, 15 /20 minutes from the ferry port. They have a field thats adjacent to the camp site, camp shop on site to order fresh bread etc for the next day, or a 5 minute drive down the road to the supermarket. The camp site is up the road opposite Ranville church (X roads)

Tony B
A little bit of courtesy, I always fly a little local flag, like a yachts curtesy ensign. It will get you a lot of co-operation http://www.gitesandmore.co.uk/About%20Normandy.htm Try to visit Tilly Sur Selle and the Jerusaleum Farm cemetry. The Calvados sold on the farm is the best there is!
