Hi all

I'm Craig , I'm 46 and live near Canterbury. I am a commercial diver working offshore for aproximately 6 months of the year. I am essentially a Harley man and have been for over twenty years. I have always hankered after a jeep so I have finally commited myself and am now the proud owner of a 43 Willys MB. ( i think/hope ) It was an EBAY purchase and will require all my old rusty welding and painting skills. ( I can confidently hang upside down in a 3 knot tide in black water and weld an oil rig leg at 180 metres deep but a warm cosy garage may pose some challenges ! )The jeep was bought without an engine, though I have already secured one ,and has a long way to go before it will be road worthy. It looks as if it has sat in a barn or under an apple tree for the last thirty years !! It is a fresh import and will undoubtably present a few challenges along the way.

I shall look forward to chatting with other members and being educated in the ways of the enthusiast. I Shall be open to any advice regarding the jeep whether it is from your experience or even word of mouth about particular techniques , suppliers or parts.

Craig

Thanks again guys, I have begun to build a relationship with Clifford at Universal and he has just enlightened me to the fact I have Ford GPW , not a Willys !! So off to a good start. I am home for a week soon, will get some work done and post some piccy's.

Gordon, you're absolutely right. UNC , UNF and I are already aquainted thanks to Harley davidson and the oil companies.
