gazzaw
Hi Guys Does anyone have a source of, or know where best to obtain, a temp guage and sender unit for our Chevy F60L CMP Wrecker (216 engine now being upgraded to a 235) Would a GMC and other US vehicles of that era have been standard (Jeep/Dodge etc)? As can be seen in photo 2 it is now stuck at 72 degrees (presumed DegC as it originally came from Holland) http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj283/garyawallace/17042011160.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj283/garyawallace/17042011158.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj283/garyawallace/17042011162.jpg Thanks in advance Gary Edited September 5, 2011 by gazzaw
Gordon_M
Gary, I've never seen anything at 72oC in Glasgow, surely some mistake. I'm not 100% sure, but the standard 2" round repro has adapters that fit Dodge and jeep, may well fit the CMP head too. Can you compare that sender unit with abroken jeep or Dodge one? Off to the wilds of Uddingston tomorrow and then back up to Aberdeen - no time to work on the toys. Gordon
gazzaw
Thanks Gordon, will try to get one from jeep etc to compare I think most were pretty standard except the screw in housing for the sender unit Gary
robin craig
I can likely help. Do you have parts number from the manual. Send me by EMAIL the details of your vehicle and I will ask the boys at the Hammond Barn to help you. They are the CMP tinkering twits. Far too old for me to be playing with. mcspool
Gary, The dash with round gauges was introduced ca. 1944 to enable the use of off the shelf gauges from US manufacturers. Any supplier of Dodge-GMC-Jeep parts should be able to help you out. Getting in touch with LWD parts is best done via phone.
