you have to take class 2 now before class 1 , that sounds about the right price now i guess considering the price of fuel ect , but when i took mine 20 years you could go straight for class 1 and mine was paid for me, ring round for more quotes , :cheesy:

Depends what you want it for. Most course will quote to include C.P.C which you'll need if you are driving commercially. They may also push you to take the fork lift licence for the mini lifts on the back of trucks. Some did a deal fail first test next test free. Bear in mind you will need 1 A medical before the provisional is gramted and 2 the theory hazard perception before the practical. It is a lot cheaper and easier to get the theory hazard test privatley. Amazon do all the discs and books. You will NOT need the CPC if your main job is not driving. Medical will cost about £80 then the cost of the Provisonal. DVLA have a commercial licence section that is pretty hot on getting licences back to you. You can get an Info pack D2 from DVLA. Supposedly on line, except, the **** submit button is under the info and don't WORK! :computerrage:

Wee! Dey fixed it! http://www.dft.gov.uk/dvla/onlineservices/order_forms.aspx?ext=dg

Also watch out for 'training brokers' they sometimes inflate the price for their 15% commission and finders fee ! We always used to refer to biggest training venue in the north... Normandy Barracks Leconfield Beverley !:)

Agree with Tony on this: the theory test book was sufficient for two of us to pass our tests with ease (me with 100%!). There's plenty of hazard perception examples on YouTube, a couple of hours well spent. Medical: £55, provisional licence is free or £20 if you update the photo at the same time.

Our courses were around £1200 for a week part time (approx 4 hours per day, two hours on Friday before the test) and included test fees which I think is about £150 these days.

We didn't take the CPC so don't know about any of that...
