mullvane
Hi all, which direction should the water pump bearing come from? Should the bearing come out of the fanblade end or should it come from the impeller end? Regards Jack
deadline
Take off the back plate, the impeller, the pulley. Push the shaft out front to rear. Use heat as required. Pumps are still available new/rebuilt, generally with a core.

Hi deadline, after discussing the issue with Rex Ward and another GMC owner the information that you supplied would have resulted in the water pump cracking Regards Jack
M5Clive
Hi all,How do you dismantle a GMC water pump? You don't - You send it to Rex Ward for an exchange and bolt on the nice new one in place of the old one and the smile is only wiped off your face when you go to check your bank balance! Not really a proper answer, but it has worked for me in the past.
