andreadavide Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Dear all, my Rover8 has been "funnily" repainted during her 30 years of civilian life in Italy, at least one time with a serious preparation, including stripping down the original paint, surviving in just a couple of spots of the engine bay and, as expected, deep bronze green. However the instrument board does not look having ever been painted DBG, but rather a lighter green/grayish color... Was the inside painted of a different color? Again: the panel containing the speedo, was green or black? Which color were the seats? Looooots of other questions will follow... bear with me... Andrea Quote
fv1609 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Andrea The basic vehicle would have been High Gloss DBG inside & out. The engine on reconditioning Sky Blue (heat resisting). The instrument panel should be black gloss. Seats generally black, but sometimes grey was used. Although my IIA Shorland was painted DBG everywhere, including the springs. Quote
andreadavide Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 Thank you! Was black only the main instrument panel or also the auxiliary ones at its sides (at left amperometres, at right military six way switch)? Andrea Quote
ArtistsRifles Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Ours had black on all panels in service if that helps. (S2/2A air-portables) Quote
