Degsy Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I know of an early seventies 6x6 Pinzgauer soft top with troop seats that may be for sale. It is road registered, no Mot, having been used for shoot transport and seems to be fairly complete but a bit rough round the edges and has generally not been looked after. I haven't got any pics at the moment and realise that valuing it is not easy but can any body give me a rough idea of value. As I have no practical experience of them , any pointrs on what to look for assuming that I get a proper look/drive. Would appreciate any advice /pointers on this. Quote
fesm_ndt Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 tehy have no chassis. Behind the wooden rails is a box section so if water gets in there you get major rot. Rot is the biggest factor for the damp places in the world. Aircooled engine. Drivetrain parts are expensive so make sure not knocking or banging. The old ones are extremely noisey so thats normal i.e. most people fit tank intercoms so they can talk to the passenger. http://www.shropshiregunbus.co.uk/default.asp have some prices and also Nigel aka Pinzmeister in here has prices as well http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/member.php?5027-pinzmeister. However fairly simple the old ones so If think can, do as I got some of the books for you Pictures would be good as can see what it is or may have been. Quote

You don't want the missus to find out I got, I think pictures of 712 rust if you send me your email address, but worst is those side rails, other areas are under the floor between stiffeners, in the tunnel. Funny enough the 710 and 712 are better protected and many of the Swiss ones went through a major rebuild prior to selling. If Swedish, generally rusty as rust can get. lots of info around on petrol pinz http://real4x4forums.com/PinzgauerBBS/viewtopic.php?t=4177&highlight=rust Quote

pinzmeister Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Generally speaking a Pinz 712 in that sort of condition is worth around 8 K. In good condition, around 10 to 11K, all parts are available, though they don't go wrong very often. Hope this helps. Quote
