Series 3 109 FFR interior

This could possible be under stupid questions but I need help with the recreation ot the Land Rover.

Have found many pictures of exterior but interior pictures seem to be scarce and I want it to be authentic.

I believe it is and FFR as it is 24V has what looks like bits of aerial cable and appears to have mounting brackets under the front wings. Previous owners have had fun, I think they wanted civvy spec but liked black and green paint. Most of the interior has been stripped out and replaced with durbar plating and what look remarkably like Fort Escort/Fiesta seats. However it is solid and has MoT.

Being new to MVs I have no idea what is missing and what parts I am going to need to find

Have attached a few pictures to show you what I have (or mainly have not got) to start with.

1. Under front wings (aerial mounts?)

2. Holes in rear above and just in front of rear wheels (what went here)

3. The lvely durbar plating (must go) and batteries in the rear.

4. The seats and the missing battery cover/compartment.

Any assistance/advice would be greatly appreciated.

It seems the PO has moved the batteries to the tub to free up the centre seat space , no big problem but you will need the battery cover 7 wing nut fixings. He seems to have maintained 24 volt because you have the two batteries and the control panel is still in situ.

----------

What he seems to have done is to remove the "Shunt box" , aerial co-axial connections and a load of wiring & flexible conduits.

===================

No huge problem - I would watch eBay and try and get a job lot that somebody has stripped off in good condition to sell on , control panel (a spare is always handy) , shunt box and most important the conduits and cable that can be difficult to obtain as loose items in good condition.

Try and view one fully rigged & take a few photographs to study against wiring diagrams.

Tmahnks that is of help, Have had more time to look this weekent and there is a large amount of aerial cable behiind the seats. The good thing is that batteries charge.

Have been looking at eBay but most seem to have been stripped out and I need to be sure I get the right stuff.

Will probsbly have to get to a few shows/meetings to work out exactly what I need.

Still have plenty of other stuff to get working and no doubt extend the list of required parts.

although found various bits in the rear storage compartments, under the durbar plating, including missing tailgate chains.

There are some bargains to be found on ebay if you keep looking, and as long as you are a little patient. The series 3 109 FFR is a little more plentiful that my series 2a 88 FFR.

I managed to get the radio cables for a Larkspur instalation on ebay with all the attachments, but it has taken me a couple of years. Mine too had been gutted of a lot of details since demob in 1971 and the PO's!

I know that there are a few wiring looms appearing on ebay, so I guess that old ser 3 109 FFR's are being canabalised and parts sold off.

Do you have the user handbook for the 109 FFR? Reproduced copies are available on the internet. The EMLRA is a good base and a years membership is £17.50, which is good value. I used to have a ser 3 109 FFR and got my copy through C&S Tat on the EMLRA site.

Yes I am regularlly visiting Ebay and don't expect to find anything fast.

I also need to research and make sure I get the bits I need and not what somebody thinks I need, if you know what I mean.

I am also not going to rush with items on Ebay as I have noticed somethings appear to be bargins untill you see how much they want for postage and I know people who have offered to collect items only for this to be met with point blank refusals, so you know they are marking up the postage or other things worse.

Have joined the EMLRA forum and am considering joining up, but will wait a bit fr this. Got a car to tax and insure on top of sorting all the little things on the Landy so it drives and passes MOT.

You know the important things, brakes, headlights that point forward and some tires (seem to have cracks in the sidewalls bigger than the tread pattern)
