The forks welded onto the front of a tank to stop it cresting over the hedge banks. Originally made from the obstacles removed from the landing beaches. I do seriously doubt wethere they would actually shove through a hedge bank, considering how tough they are with intertwined roots etc. The idea was the tank could get up to the bank and fire over the top without riding up and exposing the underbelly.
