Ivy House
Hi all, Having just removed the old head gasket on my Jeep I hav realised I'll need a Torque Wrench to replace the head, what is the setting for a Hotchkiss Jeep? Also, which is the best manual to buy which covers the Hotchkiss Jeep in detail? Cheers, Steve
Degsy
Steve get the head checked and tested before you refit it ,ie make sure it is level,no cracks etc.
Ivy House
Hi Degsy, Will do mate, any idea what the setting will be for the Torque Wrench for the Hotchkiss? Cheers, Steve
Degsy
Hi Steve Sorry I can't give you the torque setting as I haven't got the book at home. A friend who has owned several Hotchkiss' assures me that although there is a manual for the M201 it is not as comprehensive as the Willys/Ford book and apart from the 24 volts bit the vehicles are virtually identical so he recommends the original manual. Hope this helps. Cheers Degsy
Degsy
Hi Steve Just spoken to the co-owner of our vehicles, the Willys manual TM10 1513 lists the head bolt torque setting as 65-75 ft ibs. Cheers Degsy
