How oh how???!?!??!?!?!

 

 

Ok here it is, Humber Pigs like most APC's have in the rear crew compartment overhead Canvas covered foam pads...

 

But alas what the b****y hell do they stick them up with?

 

foam does not like sticking to metal. i have tried carpet glue, which was all good till the sun came out and they all fell off...

 

any suggestions? what do i use as a failsafe ?

 

the army must have had something pretty hardcore

 

 

please help..

From recollection, in REME Workshops we used an industrial adhesive called Dunlop Thixofix for this sort of job. Sticks like sh*t to a blanket.

 

Try Woolies, they specialise in car trimming materials and did stock it;

That sort of glue is great, but you must coat both surfaces & wait for it to dry, then push it together ie impact glue. I had to reline the Shorland with this & you must keep going out & breathing in fresh air as being in a confined space with all those vapours may make you feel all peculiar :?

 

I was looking in the back of an AS90 a while ago on a hot summers day & a lot of the lining was just peeling off in the heat so it is still a problem trying to get glue to stay stuck in the heat.
