  1. A new friend came over for a drink one afternoon and introduced himself as SimonStolly, it turned out that he knew my mate who also has a stolly, and so we sat talking had a couple of beers  and chewed the fat. A little later I wandered over to his nice mog that simon had been driving about to have a look around, and what a surprise i got when in the drivers seat was................................................... Now I was shocked, was this man trying to out do our Jack with flowers and a back rest as well, lo and behold this was the last that was seen of this particular covering, so it's just as well that I have captured it for all time. Sorry Simon
  2. Militant Graham and friends were working during the show bringing back a tank (name escapes me) that had just been purchased from Rex Cadman, managed to get a couple of shots on my phone, really impressed with the power of these vehicles as at one time the milly pushing was up on its back wheels, very very impressive.
  3. There was and Indian bike for sale at War and Peace this year for approx £8k, all done up in it's war time colours.
  4. Nice one Marty, will it come back and drop supplies later or will you have to throw grenades in the pond to get fresh fish
  5. Can us Jimmy owners go then matey :-D
  6. Sorry Tony still got the 54 jeep. So does anyone know the correct designation for my new truck ?
  7. Neil, the way I see it you have two choices 1. Do not buy the OT-90 and use the money to move house, in which case the idiots have won??? 2. I do not condone violence but in this case I would, you must have people around that area that does "work" for cash in hand quietly. :-D
  8. Well after all this time listening to his master's voice on here I have finally gone and done it, I HAVE AQUIRED A "JIMMY". Myself and a good friend of mine were having a chat late one Sunday at War and Peace over a few beers  when the topic of trucks and wanting a change came up, I was looking for something to camp in rather than a tent, and he was looking for something bigger than the GMC, we discussed the two vehicles, had a look around them about 0100 with a torch and decided it seemed like a good idea but wait until the morning to make a decision. Come something AM we looked again, talked shook hands on the deal and will exchange (straight swap) vehicles at the end of the month, I will then be the owner of a GMC Workshop used by the Swiss army up until 1998 which has been converted to a camper in the back, ideal for me and he will have himself an M35A1 Reo which will be missed by myself, but hey ho things move on but I am well chuffed with what I am getting and I know of only one other like this and that is in the Hop Farm museum, unless someone knows different. I understand that I am going to be ribbed regarding going to the dark side, but one thing in my favour is that I still have a 1954 M series Jeep in my possesion, so I have not completely flipped :-D http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b114/MEasterby-Wood/Reo/CIMG0384.jpg[/img] http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b114/MEasterby-Wood/Reo/CIMG0383.jpg[/img] http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b114/MEasterby-Wood/Reo/CIMG0382.jpg[/img] http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b114/MEasterby-Wood/Reo/CIMG0381.jpg[/img] http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b114/MEasterby-Wood/Reo/CIMG0380.jpg[/img] http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b114/MEasterby-Wood/Reo/CIMG0379.jpg[/img]

  10. Very, Very sorry to hear your news Neil I know exactly what you are going through as my dad passed away 4 years ago on the Monday after the show, and it always brings back memories. He sounded like a good un though and had a good life so always remember that.
  11. Just swapped mine
  12. I saw that dukw leave War and Peace last night from the camp next to ours, I believe it belongs to a guy called Mario (Barmy Army) it was on a trailer being pulled by a MAN truck. One of the bestest looking dukw I have ever seen
  13. Photo shoot went very well considering the weather and mud, must have been about 20 vehicles turn up which was very nice and good to meet the owners and new faces, I would like to say a BIG thanks to those people as it could have been embarrassing if it was just myself and Olaf (enigma) and Snapper and Zoomer on the day, I am sure the 2 clickers will be posting piccys next week. Once again many, many thanks for the turnout
  14. NEWS FLASH Pink Cushion tried to escape at War and Peace but did not use the zebra crossing and got trundled by a military vehicle, police are looking for something green says a spokesman.

  16. I can say that the roads around the camp sites are atrocious, just come home in my little van for a quick shower and I got stuck 3 times, the mud is as deep as the wheel hubs in some places. :-D
  17. Thank you, Thank you, I picked it up at a nice price as I wanted to help out a fellow HMVF member (drives a fox with bent gun) ;-) who as been having trouble with his rubber ring, (had to take the Reo over to pump it up) apparently he has had to go up a size in combats to counter the growing threat from the rear echelon .
  18. And I just popped home for a hot shower, already met Heliops? (MArk), so COME ON DOWN THE WEATHER IS HOT :-D Oh and I put Lee's tent up for him TWICE  no-one repeat No-one ask him what he done      See you there men

Well, it's 0500 just having a couple of cups of tea before I embark on the great adventure and long journey, the weather looks good for the next 3 -4 days no rain is due  so should be good for setting up. I look forward to seeing as many down there these next 2 weeks so make sure you are wearing your HMVF clothing of some sort to be recognised. SEE YOU ALL THERE  Mrs HF will keep in touch ;-)
