  1. Wishing you well & hope it all runs smoothly & that the weather improves for our events. cheers Paul
  2. Hi, SoF are not there but we do have 50 other traders booked in & number of those are militaria stalls so you should be able to find some. See u soon. cheers P
  3. Meant to add, that Bob's wife Shirley will be opening her Naafi cafe all day Friday for those who need feeding. And for those who don't want to have to cook all weekend there will also be 6 catering outlets, Black Country Chips, Hog Roast, Burgers, Pizza Shack, Chocolate Cascades & an ice cream seller with cream from his own herd nr Bristol. And of course Rambo has cakes.
  4. Just got back from the site & it is slowly drying out but still squelchy in a few places, with another dry day forecast for tomorrow, but wet on Thu but dry again on Fri but at least most will be able to set up in the dry. Quite a few Champs have set up but most were out on a road run by the time I arrived. Now I knew the Champers were having a marquee, but crickey I didn't realise it was this big, well I suppose if it does rain they can keep all 120 dry!
  5. Hello John, The entrance for vehicle owners is off Badsey Road, postcode WR11 7PA. Should be some AA signs up. The public entrance is postcode WR11 7EL cheers P
  6. Hi Ray, You will be very welcome to come & park your bike in the camp & have a brew with us. cheer P
  7. Its not too big a big site + I'll be wearing an orange high vis, so you'll either find me walking around or with my K9 in the camp compound next to the old railway box cars. cheer P
  8. Hello Bob, The Lanc is schedule for Sat pm. Andrew Baker is doing a synchronized driving display with some Alvis tracked vehicles, with pyro on both days. There is then a battle on the Sunday pm. So do come & say hello. Cheers Paul
  9. Firstly it will be dependant on the river flow & will be checked by our local member who works on the River & by the people operating the safety boat. So best to check at the show with a marshal to see if going ahead. The time will be around 5.30 on the Saturday once a fishing competition has finished. The address is Hampton Ferry, Boat Lane WR11 4BP. Its a narrow lane with a large grass car park at the end next to the river. If you prefer to watch/take pics as they enter the water you could take the chain ferry across to the other side. Its only a few vehicles to include: Alvis Stalwarts x2 DUKW Ford GPA 'Seep' Gaz 46 cheers Paul
  10. Hello Paul, Sorry to hear about your Jeep but thanks for the advance notice. The first half-dozen Champs arrived today to set up camp, including one from Germany, not a drive I would fancy. And the Garrison arrived with their first load with the 150cm searchlight which just dwarfed our 90cm, can't wait to see that in operation. Cheers Paul
  11. I could check with the Champ Club or we could just exclude them as they might win many categories & I think they are doing their own awards during the week. And the one travelling 268.7 is on a Harley MT350 so would have to also check if they are cheating & trailering it, but even in a car thats quite a distance.
  12. Yes I heard Champ Members are coming from Australia, (somewhere between 4 & 8 of them) & another from Hawaii especially for the event, so that's real commitment. I was also told about a member from South Africa & the US. As for furthest distance with a vehicle, that prize would also go to a Champ owner as about a dozen are coming from Holland, Belgium, Germany & Italy etc. With a few arriving tomorrow & many more on Monday has they are having a week of celebrations / road runs. As for UK, a quick scan down the list I noticed someone with a vehicle 268.7miles away so thats some trip too! We are very grateful for their support & will do our best to make it an enjoyable show.
  13. Due to another major show being cancelled, also on the 23 & 24 & me receiving a number of calls about ours, I can confirm that our show will go ahead whatever the weather. Unfortunately the Banbury Rally @ Bloxham has been cancelled due to ground conditions. Can't really believe its happened as this is a huge vintage show. Luckily we have easy access with a good firm track through the site for vehicles to drive onto. I walked the field on Monday night to mark out the corners of the arena & it was wet but there is good drainage. The worst case scenario would be that we restricted vehicle movement or some of the arena displays. Statistically the weather has to approve & hopefully our application for 'Fine Weather' will be granted nearer the time. Fingers crossed. Paul
  14. There will be at least one Mobat at Evesham, owned by a chap called Harry from Rugby in Warwickshire.
  15. Looks like it was a fun event, well done to all involved. I've heard lots of good reports from other vehicle owners booking into Wartime in the Vale & just had another trader book in as a result who said he also thought it was a good show. And any event with Boomboom you know its going to be fun/noisy. Reckon your main competitor was all the Jubilee celebrations with many either going to lunches etc. or watching the telly, so next year I'm sure it will be even better. cheers Paul
  16. Wow, latest count is 418 military vehicles, along with about 50 wartime classics, so thank you for all those helping to make this a cracking show. And currently have over 46 traders to spend your money with. Still not too late to enter, registration of vehicles will close at about 4pm on the 24th! But the earlier the better. cheers Paul
  17. Hello Mark & welcome, Look forward to seeing you at the show, over 400 booked in so it should be fun, cheers Paul
  18. Looks like a great event, I like the wide variety of vehicles & mix of displays, thanks for posting.
  19. Hello Ben & welcome from a fellow K9 owner. If you are looking for shows, you would be very welcome to bring it to a show I organise on June 23 & 24 over at Evesham. Already have 6 other K9's booked in so the more the merrier. See events page on www.ashdowncamp.webs.com And thanks for registering on my k9 site cheers Paul
  20. Hi Guys, Just an update to say 313 mv's booked in so far, so well on track to exceed target of 350. Thanks to those who have booked in & if you haven't I can email a form to you. cheers Paul
  21. iGunLite is quite good fun, just tilt phone to re-load http://itunes.apple.com/en/app/igun-pro-original-gun-application/id301517052?mt=8
  22. Yes very sad, a real gent. He had been very supportive in helping us with the National show for this year.
  23. Have booked a hot air balloon again to fly out of the arena on the Saturday evening to take some aerial shots, so fingers crossed for low winds. Here's a pic of the radio section from 2010.
  24. I shall watch with interest, sounds very similar to the book "Vulcan 607" by Roland White
  25. Hi Rambo, Yes people are welcome to arrive earlier in the week, Thu or even Wed & can stay Sunday night to avoid peak traffic or having to drive home in the dark. And those that do arrive early will be very welcome to help those parking / setting up on the Friday. cheers Paul
