have owned my explorer for about a year now i dont have much on its history or who put the meadows in the engines recently had new head gaskets fited . my engine has scammell meadows on the rocker covers so i belive it has allways bin in some typ of watford product more on off my explorer here http://www.hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?t=10485 where about are u from shawn ? nick

hi there shawn i allso have a meadows powerd explorer but mine is diesel i take it by u stateing that your is a 6PC 630 that yours is petrol but saying it was powering a water pump allso sounds like it is diesel. so come on shawn wot fuels the beast ??? or have u got one of these funny half petrol half deseil engines like our ROB :-D nick

yes i do beleive u do as i am yet to try and get the scammell to run on enything else but the white stuff :coffee:

if it lookes like a skip u would think he would park it round the back of the local fish and chip shop hopeing someone will chuck some chip fat init for free :-D

comressor is in bits all valve spings broken along with a few valves aswell should have it sorted soon. Would take about 10 mins to get air up in the morning so i think i was only running on one cylinder also. i am supprised i made it home now i have taken it apart :shocked:

after a rather long and slow drive me and floyd made it home at 2 in the morning . he seemed to enjoy his little outing on the motorway alltho he decided to stick his heels in about 5 miles from the hop farm when he knew he was going home . we where running along fine then nothing. managed to coast into a lay by to investegate . turned out to be a fuel problem spent the next hour trying to suck some fuel up with no luck so with help from graham germany we rigged up a jerry can to gravty feed the pump so we could get floyd up road a bit more where graham had another fuel filter and after some allterations we where up and running. no problems thereafter . arriving back in the yard feeling that we had achived a small step for man but a giant leap for scammell .:yay: whent back to the yard this morning to put floyd back to bed started first jab of the button :yay: but then the compressor decided it was its turn to play up:noyay: now have compressor in the garage waiting investigation on the whole war and peace was a brilliant week away for me. just like to say it was great to meet more people from the forum this year :thumbsup: nikki

thanks Bernard .. funny enough there is not alot different from the Latil to mine now. I got mine back together yesterday with some made up flanges that fit onto some large diamiter hydra.olic hose and two hose clips. Jobs a goodun:thumbsup:

will have a 12x12 pitched at W&P that doo ? so much more than tea and biscits :cool2:

:-Dhi all ,i have nearly got floyds dynamo drive shaft sorted ready for war and peace. i am now trying the rubber hose method with it looking gd at the mo. will have a test run on sataday and start to get floyd ready for the trip down to the hop farm next friday (the 17th) who can i expect to be there to meet and greet:wave: ? i mite need a helping hand from some one to set up camp as i will be by myself:-D

as i am sure by now rob your inbox must be filled with aplications form young women who are keen to pass u spanners wash overalls grease your prop shaft and enjoy genraly messing about with scammells so once u have read througe all the aplications and fillterd out the bunny boilers the wierd ones and the ones who want more action with the truck than with the driver ............can u pm me the ones u dont want :-D
