  2. chris as some one who has answered the question on this and with the information given by others l have to state that with out concrete proof such as a post war vrn all ideas of who this vehicle served with is pure speculation you may be right and l may be wrong or l may be right who knows
  3. they appear to be turned and the angle from vertical can be altered so some form of semaphore
  4. BILL thats the rebuild plate l mentioned november 1952

BILL as to your engine it may have been changed a few times while in service so the engine number will tell you very little some where on the engine block there may be still a rebuild plate telling when the engine was rebuilt l see the remains of the lvt code oh by the way bill you are suposed to put petrol in not take it out nice truck well done again BILL REGARDS WALLY
  6. BILL the chassis number you give is for 1940 as for that year the chassis numbers started at 21001 and finished at 40033 but l will stand corrected

  8. HI dusty most of these were impressed in to war service due to shortages though the war department did buy some of them direct straight from the factories the crossley tender is interesting REGARDS WALLY
  9. l do not know if its me but the pressure levers appear to be the wrong side of the release bearing

  15. 71 RE 14 was one of the ones released in 1980 it came to the museum of army transport l brought two back from long term storage one for display and one for reserve collection both were mark 2s and in exellent condition with headlights ivor
  16. CLIVE what you say about painting the bridge plates black when vehicles where going to sale is right it was rare to find one not done this way or even green any thing to obliterate what was on there
