  1. Thank you very much for the pictures, there a great reference for missing parts on mine. Does anyone know what the canvas roll is for?
  2. I am all for recycling but…..I might just say “ to hell with the budget “ and buy a new trailer board !! 😬
  3. Back to the pick axe head 🤨 I decided to have a rummage through my garage and found one of my old work pick axes, I removed the handle to compare civilian left, 1942 military right Fits like a glove 😬 These are the current rear lights fitted which definitely Aren’t staying
  4. Following your suggestion I tried fitting the rifle the other way around But unfortunately it doesn’t fit This could be because the clips are in the wrong place, they have been fitted back in the same place they were removed from but that doesn’t mean they were in the right place to start with, given its previous rebuild nothing surprises me.
  5. I see what your talking about now and yes they are far to small for safety reasons, so options are find a pair of originals as above just for show and have a separate plug in trailer board for road use or fit period looking modern lamps and have people point out there not correct 🤔 I think fit original with a trailer board is the preferred route but that depends on price and availability of a pair of original lamps.
  6. All received, thanks for the advice. 👍
  7. Hi Duson I might need my eyes tested but I didn’t see any rear lights in the thread ( great pictures thought ) so basically the rear lights I’ve pictured would look right but there possibly not bright enough for modern use 👍
  8. To be honest I don’t know which way the rifle should be mounted, I just fitted it the way I thought it should go, I am happy to be corrected. And thank you for the complement 👍
  9. The gun is an original 1917 mk3* smle which I know is wrong for the vehicle as it should be a mk4.
  10. The Mount is original but I’ve been told that civilian pick axes might be different.
  11. Today I decided to fit some of the brackets and mounts inside the cab, they’ve been painted and waiting patiently for some time now PLEASE BEWARE THAT SOME OF THE PICTURES BELOW COULD BE CONSIDERED SOFT PORN ON THIS FORUM 😂 It was all going so well until I went to fit the axe head, 1942 dated so it should fit……..🤔 The mounting point Spot the problem?? Any ideas ??
  12. Thanks for your reply, the lights pictured are a new modern equivalent of Jeep / dodge rear lights with both tail and brake lights, why do you say they not be sufficient ? Is it size ?
  13. Morning everyone I am thinking ahead slightly in regards to electrics and lighting, the truck has the correct style headlights and side lights but the rear lights are rectangular plastic most probably of a trailer or tractor, I’ve not seen any pictures of the correct rear lights for a wot6 so I have no idea what they look like, I’ve see these lights for sale but would like your opinions if there suitable or pictures of the correct lights. Seamus
  14. Evening everyone, just a quick update, progress has been slow, bad weather and lack of daylight doesn’t really give you the enthusiasm to get things done but step by step progress is being made. I’ve ordered a cupola cover from RCH Canvas so I thought I’d make a lid for the cupola to prevent any sagging and help keep it water tight. some off cuts of ply glued and screwed together makes for a snug fit, I’ll paint it green when the weather improves. Next up was finishing the rifle holders. New brackets made, cleaned and painted The leather protector is passed its best so I ordered the finest Italian leather ( that’s what the ad said 🤔 ) to make replacements As there was plenty of leather left I cut strips to fit the butt holders.
  15. Yes, guilty as charged, it’s been sitting there for a couple of years and I can’t see myself doing anything with it for sometime, so best to let it go.
  16. Accidents happen!! One minute your polishing your shell casing 😳
  17. Hi Phill thanks for getting in contact. It’s a nice touch to find a rebuild plate from Germany, during the course of seeking information on these rebuilds it would appear that a lot of these Jeeps were bought in the 1980s by US dealers and shipped back to the states, I’ve read a few articles about Jeep engines with bmw rebuild plates, it all adds to the history. Regards Seamus
  18. Not to much to report at the moment, prepping and painting some of the small stuff. Made a visit down to RCH Canvas and had a chat with Richard and Charlotte, new seat cushions and cupola cover on order, there’s a bit of a wait but the products look good. I’ve got an original seat base that’s correct but the back cushion is a possible choice of 2, does anyone have any pictures of wot6 seat cushions that could be used for reference?? also does anyone know what the 2 dot lift pins are for on the back of the seat frame? They don’t fit either of the seat backs I have.
  19. A few pictures please and details of the garage.
  20. It’s definitely a head scratcher!! Hence my question, did the Belgian military use the same regiment markings as the British post war?? I agree the RA markings don’t look quite right but doesn’t mean there not, also I assume it’s a US rebuild program, did the British have any rebuild factories in Germany??
  21. Now that’s a proper old school scrap yard.
  22. I don’t think it was a British army rebuild, I believe it was part of the US rebuild program in Germany
