  2. AV was used on lorries / trucks. Looking at Ruddington auction catalogues, there are Matadors, Hippos and Bedford RL's, all with AV numbers.

  9. OEP220 is Army designation for 80w/90 EP gear oil ( OEP : Oil, Extreme Pressure )
  10. Hanno, I do not have any MW parts books, but if they are as good as the QL ones, any change in parts is noted with the chassis number it changed on, so you could work out when things altered, only problem is with Bedfords, that Census numbers do not often run in order of chassis numbers, in fact they are rather haphazard.
  11. Hanno, I think that book is a compilation of his series of Bedford articles in earlier Classic Military Vehicles magazines.
  12. When a prop hits the ground like that, the crankshaft normally has to be inspected, let us hope that there is no internal damage and it is flying again soon.

  16. Allan, Morris Lubricants AG140 SAE 140 straight gear oil
  17. That would be around the mid Thirties I reckon, nice find
  18. John, Seem to recollect the Foden EKA recovery would go faster than the tyre rating, which I think was a max of 50 mph, but average speed of 40, anything over that would result in the tread blocks of the Michelin tyres actually "melting". Not something a private owner would wish to do as it would not take long to wear them out.
  19. :shake::shake::shake::shake:.............OK, I will shut up then
  20. just thought of an answer........... so will you be taking the ( land ) girls truck ? :-D
