  1. Hi Kevin, It is many years since used to work on them, so memory is not clear as to whether it is a single acting ram or double acting, I thought the former, where it drops by gravity when the spool valve is actuated. It could be tight pivot pin on the boom, have you tried greasing it then working it up and down? Richard
  2. All clear now, should have Googled before posting. Nothing to worry about, and to put Tony's mind at rest, referrals mean the number of new members you introduce.
  3. Errr... thanks Robin, I take it that is a compliment !
  4. Thanks Tony, I was not going to ask what they meant
  5. I have just notice in the top right of our posts, it now lists "Rep Power". Now I did wonder if it was times I had been reprimanded by powers that be, but as Jack and Joris have 10 each, and I have 13, obviously not that. Anyone got a clue?
  6. Richard, That designation you quote is the contract number for the parts. I should have number somewhere as I bought some new one many years ago for my QL.
  7. Robin, It was not just down to me, a friend in Paris, Serge, told me about it and said he thought it was a Morris Commercial ambulance. It was surrounded by material in the building and he could not see the front end. This raised my interest, but a few photos from him gave me enough clues that it was an Austin. Knowing Radek was desperate to find a K2, I put him in touch with Serge. Actually last week Serge sent me a link to a short video of Radek driving it around a field, so Katie lives and breathes. regards, Richard
  8. Very good Nik, well done. Like the tea stains down the tailboard, a realistic touch
  9. Thanks Jon, All coming back to me now, I do remember the slots, a long time ago since I was knee deep in that stuff. Fox was good for workshops, alway kept us busy, never seen so many catastropic engine failures as in those. cheers Richard
  10. The MF backacter was well proven by our army at that time, both on Muir Hill and MF tractors, so parts would be NATO codified, it all made sense.
  11. yet another mistake in EMER's ! It is surprising the number that come up still.
  12. Hi Chris, Not sure what you mean about a 101 being "slotted", they were un-linered blocks. There are differences in cylinder heads and gaskets between the 100 and 101. Also the designations might not always run to rule, as when in service we sometimes had to convert one to another if there was an availability issue. Usually convert a B to an A due to the survival rate of Fox engines being low. Why they never fitted a limiter as the CVR(T) had we will never know, but I do know from experience that I left the limiter on when converting, bet the drivers cursed when they could not keep up with their mates! regards, Richard
  13. Hi Jerry, Not to worry,........... we know you now. regards, Richard
  14. Tony, That was exactly my thoughts, the MF220 backhoe as fitted to the Muir Hill A5000, the illustration looks like one.
  15. Rob, Pump makers, they made 25 pounder field guns among other military items, inc aircraft in WW1 and experimental helicopter in WW2
  16. hi Wizard, Those Matadors, Explorers, etc .......... anything to do with a certain travelling fair in West Sussex by any chance ? regards, Richard
  17. John, The trailer was FV2502, and made by Sentinel. Tyre size was 9.00-16. I do recollect that trailer with the bren carrier, when I saw it, it was being towed by a CMP LAA tractor if I recall, at an event in Bruges. Not much lock on the steering and it was quite common to change a bent draught eye.
  18. By coincidence, I was reading the following web page last night, somewhat similar ..... sad ending though. http://www.bombercommandmuseum.ca/lanckb885.html
  19. If you get someone to transport for you and they do not have "Goods in transit" insurance, then this could happen. Best to confirm this beforehand.
  20. Hi Keith, Welcome to the forum. looking forwards to seeing your photos of the Ferret. best regards Richard
