  2. Another good man down. He's earned his peace.
  3. Too late mate! The DUKWS have been and unfortunatley gone. Mind you the modern replacements broke down last week, leading to an 'Emergency Evacuation Plan' from Elizebeth Castle.
  4. Whats the betting that ends up BBC, CNN, or AlJazir?
  5. The place to work for Land Rover was Bluewater! They had the Land Rover experience there. A friend was one of the drivers. The seat stainer was half way up a cliff going over about thity feet damm near vertical, you could see the car park at the shopping centre through the sun roof. Allegedly one of the Rover guys took a 90 up it!
  6. Nice thumb! :-D And you got paid for that? :argh: That water shot, watch it Catweazle (our resident Old Man of the Sea) will be wanting one, and he is spending to much time withe NO2 at the moment.
  7. This is one of Olly's done for me, the Garrison Quad and gun
  8. OK mate! So leave an AAAV'EFF as well! We can supply bolt cutters. The joy you have is you breack it, you don't have to pay for repairs. :-D LOOOOOTS of pictures please!
  9. Welcome to the mad house. No need to warn you about the infective nature of Green Disieiase.
  10. Makes a change to have someone who KNOWS what they are talking about, compared to some of the muppets on 'Restoration series'.
  11. I know your approaching a certain age Jack, but really! Isn't it a vein to vein blood transfer kit?
  12. You want good MV artwork? Try http://www.ocook.net/ Olly has done some super stuff for me in the past. The WC51 and 54 are mine and Katy.
  13. These things seem to be breeding, this years Gucci attachment. I've just aquired one complete in the carry case, but no pole connectots! Does anyone know if 9x9 connectors will work?
  14. :red: :flowers: Score one to Degsey, asked the expert. Those poles are the mast type, not the camo ones, though in my defence they were used for both. There is apparently 100 foot of poles on bothe sides, and the counter balances. The whole lot when up looks like this, Though that wagon may be a cihper truck.
  15. Thinking of buying a bit of land then? :-D
  16. Welcome Mike, nice to know we have left some 51's in the States. Welcome, park up on a Jeep and come into the bar.
  17. You might possibly leave it near the fence one night, with the keys in? :flowers:
  18. Still be intresting if it is a Y Service interceptor truck. Photos of them are rare as hen teeths.
  19. Nah mate in this case, actual experience with an identical QL the rods for the top mounts are stored in the metal box on the front of the body above the cab. Actually that beast intrests me. it has certain peculiarites of fitting. Have you details of where the picture was actually taken? These vehicles were used during the fifty's and sixties as radio intercepters, especially around the top end of Germany to listen to Russsian miliatry traffic. Although, they were also conveted to Office Body, at that time. Phil's QL has a plate dated 1952 to that effect .
  20. That old mate, is hangover from my yoff! Remeber the old days when you could fix a vehicle on the front drive? My Mentor in such things was a bloke called Howard, we used to take old motorbikes and cars to him, he always insisted that he would tell us how to do it, but we had to fix it 'If you don't know one end of a spanner from the other you shouldn't own it!' His other favourite remark was 'Listen, the vehicle will tell you what is wrong!' Importantly though, whatever path of the HOBBY, RE, LH, MV Military history we veer off on, it has to be fun, I don't own my vehicles, I keep them in trust as symbols of the men of used them, and the times they represent. I've always followed the doctrine, if asked for help by a Forces Charity, you do everything possible to help.
  21. :rofl::rofl::rofl:Squaddies never change then!
  22. Clever way if getting round the Low Emissions Zone in London? (And that's from the place that has the Palace of westminster in it?)
