  1. Here's another Dodge pic, .. interesting gun mount
  2. Was just doing the timing cover oil seal, the Dodge is so easy to work on, just a few bolts to take the wings and radiator off :-D
  3. I keep my Dodge in a standard Marley garage with up'n over door, have to take canopy and hoops off, bit of a chor. then fold screen, it just fits with a couple of inches to spare each side, it normally drives in forwards then I climb out over the back. Another hmvf member keeps his Ferret in the next garage
  4. All the all the mechanicals and bodywork are normal civilian Austin 8, apart from the vented side panels, also same bits as the utilitys, "tillys" and I thinks similar bits as the 10hp car too
  5. Cor,..........what happened to it ?? The Morris ended up many years ago partly dismantled in an Oxfordshire scrapyard, was rescued and restored, last heard of in the Norfolk/Suffolk area
  6. It appears to be a Kfz15 Horch 830 similar to the Kfz12 Wanderer
  7. This was my Uncles Morris that he ran as a car in the 50's/60's
  8. Some of the original batch of 50 BRC 40 Bantams, forerunner to the MB/GPW supplied in 1941 to the British Army were used in the western desert. The Bantam recently for sale on milweb was claimed to be the oldest combat Jeep in the world having been a survivor of those used
  9. "I said it aint a good idea to get a minicab up to the front line":-D
  10. Yes it was at Beckton, doing yet another starter drive change on one the "Walker Bulldog" tanks, engine and g/box out, we got it down to less than 2 hours, they were very prone to breaking the drive on start up from cold if the engine kicked back
  11. Brings back memories...same scenario with a WLF just moved forward 40 odd years (1985)
  12. Its an ex military test vehicle, note the "SP" special purpose, reg no. apparently built to test hydraulic active suspension systems. Can't think what you could do with it, bit useless especially as its being sold less engine http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ex-MOD-1970s-Military-4x4-Concept-Vehicle-Unique_W0QQitemZ120193906579QQihZ002QQcategoryZ122307QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  13. Ex Belgium Army CVR T on ebay with knocking engine http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Alvis-Spartan-CVR-T-APC_W0QQitemZ270194477091QQihZ017QQcategoryZ122307QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  14. Many years ago an AWDC member aquired a Triumph Pony gearbox, which is basically a modified Triumph 1300 fwd car box and installed it into a car making it 4wd, made a strange sight seeing a Triumph Dolomite driving around trials sites
  15. Yours for £295!!! They really are having a laugh.....perhaps its a misprint ..£2.95? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Complete-Austin-Gypsy-what-hasnt-rusted-away-1960s_W0QQitemZ320189708191QQihZ011QQcategoryZ27376QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  16. I know the Israelis took over a similar vehicle built by Triumph, the Triumph Pony
  17. The first pic is an Austin Ant 4x4 prototype, only a few made, they used the 1100 engine and gearbox with a modified diff unit to give drive to the rear wheels, several still survive
  18. The LT Museum opened to the public today so off I went to check it out, .and....er ... oh..where on earth did they spend all that money!!. yes the building is very nice, on 3 levels now, lots of walkways and lifts and stairs but there is now less vehicle exhibits than previous, which comprise, a couple of underground carraiges, a routmaster, 50's single decker, tram, trolleybus, and an early open top bus, upstairs are the steam engine and carraiges and horse drawn stuff, but do we really want to see a new black cab and a modern fiberglass double decker, there is a huge empty space in the centre of the building infiltrated with tables and chairs seems to be the cafe! There is lots of interactive stuff for the kids but considering what is shut away over in Acton they could have done better, perhaps in time they might bring in some more vehicles
  19. Discovery Real Time TV Channel, "Wreck rescue" programme presented by Mark Evans this week featured the first episode of restoring a former logging AEC Matador by father /son team Peter and Steve Read who already have a Diamond T wrecker and a Jimmy plus other interesting stuff hiding in the background of their yard. The Matador still had its Ruddington lot number painted on the front of the cab. This episode also featured Harris's Amusments who own 9 Matadors, they operate the funfair at Beltring. Watch out for the next episodes
  20. Restored '43 International m2-4 on Ebay USA http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=150183842415&rd=1
  21. Did you all spot the bit of tv editing in the final of Scrapheap challenge, when the RL chassis vehicle hit the water it obviously broke its trackrod and you could see the NS front wheel go onto full lock, however the next shot both wheels were pointing straight.....
  22. And more pics at Brooklands.......Landys, Matador, Jimmys, Bedfords, Reo's and a strange hydraulic drive 4x4 by Glover Webb
