  1. hello, you just can see the fitting of the switch and junction box , but vehicles are Morris C4 and Bedford QL. Morris Bedford QL
  2. Steering box is back to original specification, the person go sold it to my had the sector shaft re grind and made also new bushes for the steering box housing. I replaced the tapper bearing and adjusted everything. Back to original, looks match better than the modified thing that came with the Morris from France. Modified French steering box. And now back to original !
  3. Did some repairs on the battery box, painted and back in place. Will have to make the lid for this box ! The big regulator box (radio truck type) back in place and the identification plate fitted in the inside of the cabin on the passenger side.
  4. painted some bits for the front of the cabin and reassembled the plate work and some wooden bits that go under the pedals. The passenger side plate is a temporary fit as the dashboard needs to be fitted first. Now the big puzzle starts as many bits came in boxes with the Morris C4 from France. Don't cam fit the rear of the cabin for good as we are making new petrol tanks, I think it is easier to fit these petrol tanks without the cabin over them !
  5. Gearbox looks fine, will just replace the oil seal at the back and put the PTO back on to the side of the box.
  6. Inside of the bonnet into paint and started to assemble the front of the cabin. Getting there with the engine and will very soon be back in the chassis.
  7. Did a few auto jumbles last weekend in the UK and collected some bits for my project.
  8. Maybe I will have a second one spare, two pumps are been repaired for the moment! Guy
  9. The bonnet came from France in 4 bits and there where some hinges broken. Repaired the broken hinges and inserted 3 stainless steel rods to keep the bonnet and sides together. Had also to do some panel beating as there where some nasty dents in these panels. Panel work as it came with the C4 from France Repaired hinges and ready for some extra primmer.
  10. Found so extra bits for the Morris C4 , all the bits for the radiator air lock filler and new old stock clutch lining plus a new carbon clutch release bearing . Have also the right water pump as the one go came with the C4 was something different ? The water pump that came with the C4, I don't think it is the right pump for this vehicle but for sure it is Morris.
  11. Assembled the plate work on the wooden frame of the cabin, the metal bits are screwed and nailed to the wooden structure. Before assembly I painted the inside of the metal bits. Now I will have to find out how the cabin rear bulkhead is arranged, there are only two locking clips left after de passenger seat and a lot of holes in the woodwork that must have been there fore some reason. Always happy to receive some information on this subject, the Morris was a wireless truck so there was some sort off communication set up between the cabin and rear section. Had also a look how the A post are fitted to the floor. Now I have to wait the return from the sandblaster off the metal structure that hold the front of the cabin together and where the wooden A posts and sides of the windscreen are bolted on . And these are the two remaining clips I mention earlier, what is there use ?
  12. the C4 wooden part off the cabin repaired and in paint, now I can start to put the plate work back on.
  13. Done some more work on the Morris C4. some extra assembly work on the engine, made the tube that go to the oil filter. On the engine the oil filter was delete and there was only a tube from the bloc to the main oil gallery. Started also on de cabin, first had a look how everything is assembled, the steel plate against the woodwork. Repaired the floor and the front corners where the A post is assembled. Next week I put the cabin in to paint and start to fit the plate work back on. And the modified front crash bar is back in to original shape.
  14. Started to reassemble the engine and have the paint now a bit darker. Camshaft back in the block and timed so I could fit the dynamo back in place. First time I work on a engine where the dynamo is driven by the timing chain, but this was the fashion in the 30th's. Now I am looking for a clutch plate as the one I have is almost on to the rivets and will send the water pump away to EP service for reconditioning.
  15. That's a threat I really like , well done and keep up the interesting posts ! Not to match bla bla but action. Guy
  16. Found some bits at a local military show for the Morris, horn from 1944, one Lucas back section of a headlight and two Butlers. Some strange ting on one of the Butlers is the provision for a parking light.
  17. Check the Engine and to my surprise everything seems in very good condition, think the engine had a rebuild in France as the clearance on the pistons marks is in French.
  18. Looking great Ian, will have to put my act together and start to repair the front windscreens for the cab roof ! Keep up the work on the QL !! Guy
  19. Been at it , rear springs back on and the rear axle back on to the rear springs.
  20. Some extra pictures of the trailer, rivets are on order to rivet this thing back together. which me luck, only around 150 rivets to go !!!
  21. on one of the rear leaf springs a bottom leaf was broken replaced this with a new piece. Still have to make a new bronze bush for the rear spring eye as there is excessive play in one bush.
  22. The axle back in to it's place, we have a rolling trailer. next job will be the fitting of the mudguards.
