Better picture taken today. Withams have moved all their cheiftains outside and the big black hangar is being refurbished inside. They currently have contractors cladding it inside with white cladding, including the roof.

Hi Andy, I know Kev is keen to get out in his Antar whenever possible but he did not actually take it to Malvern !!!

I have an M578 based on the same chassis.

I met up with Antarkev today at Malvern, he had the ANTAR out running around yesterday for 2 hours without missing a beat. Kevin had hooked up the feed to the air horn to the magnetos breather system, whilst driving he gave the horn push a press every few minutes, blowing cool air from the auxulliary air tank through the magnetos. He is now quite sure the problem is due to the Magnetos breaking down electrically when hot. All he needs now is instructions on removing them. At the moment all my ANTAR manuals are with Melvin Cordwell who has the ex-Beverly pair.

withams have told me that they dont run, drove in 9yrs ago and not run since then. They have tried to run them up, but it a no go!

They have been stood in the big black hangar for years, they belong to Withams not the MOD. There are 18 more Chieftain MK10S in there been there since the days of the Luggershall tenders.

New mind the Scammell and the Trailer, just look at that CET!! That's the bisiness!!

Can anyone tell me how many M26 Pacifics there are in the UK? There's one at the hop farm that we all know about. There's also the ex-Wynns one which has recently been restored. There was one which I saw about 10 years ago, just forget exact location, some where near Chorley in Lancashire. It was armoured cabbed, painted blue and was more or less complete. I wonder what happened to this vehicle?

I was wondering what will be sold in large numbers next. In the past there has been clear outs of abbots, ferrets, saracens, stollys, fv 432's, cvrts, etc etc and most recently green goddesses.

 

All of the above are now disposed of and in the hands of owners, or scrapped, but whats coming along now? Saxons perhaps?

I borrowed the Jeep of a friend whilst at Saddleworth Wartime Weekend out of absolute necessity, the only vehicle avaliable to go and pick up our visitor from Australia who was staying in a B & B in the village.

That is not a grin, it is a grimace at being caught on camera driving a Jeep !

All said it was the first time in 28 years of playing with military vehicles that I had even sat in one, not such a bad little ride after all.

The EKA I will sell is shown on my site but not many pictures.

Pretty much a full kit with her, bars, forks, chains, extensions, crane attachments etc etc.

Fully registered as "Breakdown Vehicle" so MOT exempt and taxed for 11 months!!

A little scruffy paintwise and a few dings here and there but a very useable truck all the same.

Dave had a nice chain driven winch for the constructor which I bought and a C6 Rolls which, if I have problems with the cracked block on Grahams one, will get me out of trouble. Is going to deliver as well.....

Just need that Low Loader now and all will be right in my Scammell World!
