  4. Welcome to the forum, we were over earlier in the year(we have friends in the south island), and managed to see some gun emplacements near them, but unfortunately no vehicles or shows. Managed a couple of car shows( you do like v8 and American cars).
  5. I am coming to the show, unfortunately doesn't look like the dodge is going to be coming, so will be coming on one of the bikes(both are green lol), to get to my point does it have to be military style tents with the vehicles or can I bring my civvy tent as it`s a lot easier to carry and lighter than my pup tents. As the 9x9 was the plan but that looks like not happening. Thanks for reading my ramble and if somebody could let me know that would be great.

  12. Hi,this is a bit cheeky and fairly short notice but i will be in Dunedin(south island) from the 21/02/13 to 28/02/13,is there anybody/groups that are reasonably close that would like to show me and my host(alan who lives there) there vehicle`s/collection etc,we both like anything with wheels/tracks/unusual or are there any shows on that weekend.Alan is a hgv mechanic/tester(so like fairly large things as well).Or is there anywhere local that we could visit(museum etc).Sorry for the short notice but we have had some major family hiccup`s recently that put the trip in doubt( i will be so glad to get on the plane tomorrow). My phone won`t work in NZ(as i refused to pay EE £250 as a deposit to turn on international roaming which they keep for 12 months?).Please drop me an pm/or reply to this thread via this site.I will log on in NZ. Thanks in advance Simon

  20. Welcome to the forum what part of leicestershire are you from as i am in Glenfield,as per above it`s good advice get a dodge though i might be biased, don`t worry about asking stupid questions as i have asked loads. Simon
  21. As per some of the earlier comments it`s a once a year event and you only get to see/meet european mv owners at war and peace, it will add about 50 miles extra(there and back) but i will still go,there are lots of great small/medium shows up in the midlands and up north which i try to get to as many as time/money allows. But they are to far for most european owners to get to(there are a few).I think everybody should give it a chance. Simon Ps my dodge seems happy bibbling down the motorway at 45mph with out to many problem`s.(it`s just boring)
  22. HI, can you go over to europe and purchase a road legal/locally taxed mot`d vehicle and ride/drive it home, you would need to make sure you were insured etc, as i see loads of foreign registered cars/trucks etc around here(some have been here for years).Once here you could then get it registered here?.Or is the above a stupid idea. Simon
  23. This might sound a bit odd, deos anyboby know Gordon he lives in the rugby/southam area and has atleast two humvee`s and quad`s etc.I was suppossed to get in contact with him when i returned from my holiday.I changed my phone from pay as you go to contract and the sales assistant transfered all my numbers etc for me(not very good with phone`s etc). What i didn`t know until i returned was they hadn`t all copied/migrated and i am missing a few.If you do know him or you are reading this(gordon) please can you drop me a line with your number on.I have asked everybody i can think of and they all know him but had no contact details. This was a last resort and if this deosn`t work i will have to wait to stoneleigh as he is normally there. Thanks in advance Simon:) (Blue usaf dodge m37)
