  1. Hi Baz here.. Email me on ebarrimore@hotmail.com if you want.
  2. I have one. ebarrimore@hotmail.com
  3. I have two spare wheels and tyres to a good home. Tyres are worn but would suffice as a spare as they hold air. Also I have a great deal of radio kit for these that came out a French apx.. I may need a few beer tokens for that though. Also I think I have some of the air braking system and brake shoes if you need them. I'm Bristol based so may be a long way for some rusty bits!
  4. Sorry you have had issues with Facebook andy. We aren't starting trying to start a forum.. That's best done here on hmvf. We are primarily a reenactment group who I am inviting people to contribute to.. Its more about publishing content (pictures / videos etc) than a chat room per say. Thanks.
  5. Hi, we have been running a successful Facebook page on the French army, but we now have lots of people interested in the French military vehicles. We count amongst our followers many french jeep, truck and armoured vehicle collectors. Why not come and see the group on Facebook? There's something for everyone! Look for: French army reenactment group or, hotchkiss jeep owners page (uk). Thanks everyone.
  6. Hi why not look up our new Facebook page? Hotchkiss jeeps owners page (uk) loads of knowledgeable people and topic specific to the vehicle?
  7. Hi we may have chatted before.. I have had a few of these in the past and know a little bit. Feel free to pick up through our Facebook pages.. French Army Reenactment Group as we have a motor pool of a few French vehicles.. I also have a number of french friends who know about these lorries.. Good luck Baz
  8. Hi I'm looking for some help with my post war MV collection... I've just taken delivery of two armoured vehicles (tracked and wheeled) in the last few weeks and I probably have at least another on it's way. The chap who used to help me out has now moved on so I am looking for someone to help with various mechanical tasks. It's not a paid job I'm afraid, but I can certainly make sure no-one is out of pocket. Also the person would then have access to many useful facilities.. It would suit anyone of any skill level - you may not even need to know one end of a spanner from another as there's lots of different tasks needing attention! If you had a driving licence that would certainly help as you would help to drive most things in the collection I'm based half way between Bristol and Bath (in the westcountry) If you are interested or know of anyone who might be, please pass on my email; ebarrimore@hotmail.com Some pictures of what I am working on currently may whet the appetite.. Thanks Baz
  9. Hi I am looking for a Scorpion (with turret please!) Excellent money paid - can come and pick up from you - any distance., and cost, any condition considered. Desperate to increase my collection ready for this years show season. 'Bring out your dead!' Thanks Baz (Bristol) MVT member for 20 years
  10. Hi Firstly the AML is from Israel (after the french army) No sign of argentinian use. It must have had its engine blow at some point as there are layers of baked on engine oil in the hot air outlet. This was probably the end of it. Also the gun seem jammed in full recoil. I think it was at R&R's yard a good few years ago and was painted as a german vehicle for use in a film.. I know it was in Richard III where it was set alight. It's in a terrible state.. I need lots of parts and not sure where to get any.. Secondarily I have already spoken to Lys Tout Terrain already. The have a take out engine of unknown quality and that's it. They tried to sell me the diesel version AMX13 they have there, buts its really rough inside and they want top dollar... I'll just have to keep on looking.. Baz Baz
  11. Hi I have just purchased a very sorry looking AMX13. It will need total restoration as has been sat outside for over 20 years (!) Everything is knackered.. It's also been badly vandalised ;-( Ok do you or anyone else you know, have any AMX parts to help out - or some leads on parts! I think I'm going to need; Engine (take out one minimum) Possibly gearbox Turret as it has a post war incorrect one.. (very long story that involves it being used in filming in the 80's) Drivers seat, wiring loom etc etc etc Any help gratefully accepted - any leads to some key items at a good price will result in reward! Beer or beer tokens.. I know you will ask for pictures - they will be forth coming - when I retrieve them from my broken I-phone (screen is cracked from dropping hot weld on it!) For now here's a picture of my latest resto project - an AML90 - that should keep you happy for now.. Anyone notice a french theme here?? Thanks Baz (Bristol)
  12. Hi I am in need of a chaffee, amx or ebr turret, Condition is irrelevant. A very tall order I know - but any leads to confirmed available turrets very welcome. Thanks for your help ebarrimore@hotmail.com
  13. Hi Sorry to jump in here. I have seen some pictures of the Fort Paull military vehicles - they are looking a little weather worn now... Have you any idea who owns them? I don't think it's the fort, I think its a private collection.. I'd appreciate even a name of a person who knows a person etc, I want to ask the owner a few questions about his exhibits! Thanks Baz x2 SUMBS Renault R2087 Hotchkiss M201 Panhard AML Peugeot SX8 Land Rover Series 1
  14. Hi I have restored 2 of these - but never scratch built (?) I guess you are referring to a model?? Baz
  15. Thanks for the footage - I'm the 'odd one out' and got caught up in the cavalcade after a shopping trip to Tesco!:red: I'm the chap in the Panhard. I think I could hear the commentator saying I was a ferret ?? Think I caught him off guard!
  16. Hi - I expect that's Keiran? Nice resto on 'Dutarte', looks a million dollars! I like the UN markings as well. Your blog inspired me to post one too! - Baz
  17. Sure - it should be there, and you can help me get all the radio kit working as I don't have a clue - its a simple DY88 and GRC9 - but don't want to electrocute myself by not wiring the antennae up correctly! Oh and there's the internal intercom as well!
  18. Hi, I started a thread many moons ago about a restoration I was attempting on an AML60 I had dragged back from Spain. The good news is - it's now complete and we are roadworthy! Pictures tell a thousand words - so here some highlights! See you at a show near you soon!
  19. Hi Expanding the french military collection and in discussions in Europe about a possible Amx purchase. I need find someone who owns or used to own one, to chew the fat about what to look for. Can anyone help? Thanks Baz
  20. Hi I imported a few of these recently, but they are french and not argentinian. Baz PM if you have any questions :-)
  21. Hiya Things have moved on here. My Panhard is finished and running. I just have a few small jobs to complete (like adding the sand channels). Its been a couple of years.. Interestingly the sad looking Panhard aml90 in the background in the second R&R picture I owned for a short while as I bought it from BE Boys at their auction - I brought it back stripped it of all parts then sold the hull on.. PS Whilst on my hunt for spare parts I came across a Panhard rebuild factory in S. France. I was able to have a look around. There must be at least 200 of them there from damaged wrecks to an actually brand new one that had never been used (a demonstration platform I believe) I was able to come away with as much as I coule carry! - was like being a child in a candy store! BAz
  22. Thanks - hope it's of some use...you are right about crank case breather - my mistake.. Baz :nut: Its all those petrol fumes...
  23. Hiya I have been helping out a few people with rough running Willys and Hotchkiss jeeps. I thought I would share my knowledge with you - as it may help some people. In no way does this cover everything - but I think its a good starter for ten. If people can add to this please feel free as the more information out there the better for us jeep owners! Here goes - and PS dont shoot the messenger if it doesnt fully work for you!! Qu; My Hotchkiss Jeep doesn't run smoothly, and sometimes I can't start it! 24. Hiya I am dealing with a hotchkiss right now with the same issue. Its excessive fuelling of the engine. This creates black smoke, the engine floods and it cuts out. Fuel leaks down the bores and thins the oil. You will find your oil pressure dropping as well. Make sure you change oil as you will experience excessive wear otherwise... To fix - check teh condition of your carb especially the cut out valve that sits on top the float. Also check your float height. If its not any of this, its the fuel pump is pushing too much fuel through. You need an inline controlling flow valve to slow the fuel flow down (you can get from a motor factors). Or change your fuel pump to a less 'enthusiastic' one Apparently there are a good deal of hotchkiss owners with the same issue currently - it took me hours to work this out. To prove it - gravity feed the petrol into the carb so its not under so much pressure the engine will run fine that way. I'm not sure whats causing it - wonder if its the viscosity of new fuels we are using, the fuel is thinner ???? or the pumps/ valves wear and 'over pump'... Hope that helps Baz Willyshotchkissjeeps.com
  25. Thanks for your help. It was the Dorset show. The armoured car is Bovingtons - from when it used to drive(!) I have pictures from inside the vehicle if anyone's interested... Mystery solved.. Thanks everyone.
