  1. Hi and welcome, where in cyprus are you?
  2. Glad its the right one... will see what I can find out about it, ie moving etc... but not too sure how quick as loads going on at moment..
  3. Yes it was having an engine change ??? or winch engine and a new fuel tank when i was there a few months back, and yes I know the Antar is Atlee's as I was the one who took the photos.. That was A F#####g nitemere that trailer, always took days to go anywhere....
  4. I am guessing this is the memorial you are referring to ? if so I will confirm which contingent it is from, but looking at the guy in white it's an Austrian insignia on his sleeve - I believe... and the flag/scroll on the ground is the correct colours for Austria.
  5. Ok Richard, Heres the mug shots and the South African
  6. Hi Richard, Yes that does seem to ring some bells, so you could be right, will see if I have any close ups of him, The South African was another guy, will also see if I have photo of him..
  7. Hi Richard, The guys name slips me totally, but was a pukka character, and the name also slips my mind (must be an age thing) of the guy who explained all that was going on with the recovery. All I do remember is some of his very funny comments, some of the facts and that he was a South African. Hi Peter4456, Yes sure will post later, do you just want stuff in the shed or from the heath as well?
  8. More? silly question I guess......
  9. Hi All, I have been lucky enough to have visited Bordon on many occasions and of course taken various photos, but thanks must go to the man himself for allowing my visits. So a Very big thank you to Roger for all the mega experiences had over the years. well in no particular order here we go..... enjoy
  10. If I remember correctly with both Roadsure and Footman James the more vehicles you insure the cheaper it gets.. I am sure we were down to around £50 per vehicle a couple of years back.

Funny that Steve we dont seem to suffer that problem, only a reduced pressure so not had any issues.... :nut: But yes do know of others that suffer....
  12. I thought about bring my Abbott over when I came over - wanted to open a bar and park it outside, now in Hine sight don't think it would be allowed, there are a few ex - service land rovers, and a few ex - UN trucks running around or parked up these include Laplander, Kras, Volvo, Hino and Bedford's trucks to name but a few.
  13. Hi All, Recently in Classic Military Vehicle magazine there was an article about 2 Valentine tanks in Cyprus one with a homemade turret the other at the time was original, does anyone know where they are or were at last sighting? Thanks in advance From the web Armored Vehicle (Modified Valentine Mk-II) First photographed on parade in Nicosia in May 1964, a single modified Valentine Mk-II served in the Cypriot National Guard. It is believed that the example was restored to active use from an abandoned hulk, which lacked a turret. The Greek Cypriots installed a box-shaped turret of their own on the vehicle, sufficient to allow a gunner to fire a Bren gun from a standing position inside the vehicle. Almost certainly served with a two man crew. The fate of the vehicle is unknown. Designated EF-3.

  17. Any one want a chain or two ?
  18. We have a load of them at work, they were used by the Argi's on there Merc powered Reo's - yes Reos fitted with Merc engines
  19. Not completely sure Terry Brooks owns it, more of a custodian, hence why its kept back at Bordon. I also believe it started life as a driver training aid (but not 100% sure on that).
  20. Some nice photos there, but how about this one of some of the NLBA in Hamburg on the Ark royal this weekend... guess you cant get closer than that to take a photo
  21. hi guys, firstly great photos I visited a few times and Wally is a good friend of mine, we keep in touch and always meet at war and peace... The electric car is at bordon, and a few of the land rovers are as well, I am guessing now part of their collection or the Dunsfold collection, some of the other vehicles as said did belong to private owners. And yes there was supposed to be a move to caterick, but it's amazing how someone being very greedy can screw something like this all up.....
  22. Microsoft office picture manager is also very good and easy to use
  23. I had the tools with my abbott, dril, big and small Kango, nut gun but never used them, i belive they were 415volt? something to do with swapping a plug over on the control box or something up the voltage... but hey it was a few years back so cant be sure on voltage..... :undecided:
