  1. Not in Blighty unfortunately! When I was being told in NZ how lucky we were here to not need a WoF and hub odometers on GMCs, I pointed out the restrictions we operated under. I suppose for most peoples uses, we are lucky!
  2. Big girls blouse! :cheesy: Looks great Dave, making me hungry!
  3. Not really. During the war, the trailer used was the 7 1/2 ton light recovery pulled by a recovery tractor such as a Scammell Pioneer. Today the trailer would need to have an MOT as would the towing vehicle. There is no provision for braking a trailer on a GMC other than electric brakes. I too have seen it done but it is a road to trouble!
  4. Ahh! I think that's in Dorchester on Saturday and Maiden Newton on Sunday.... I think.
  5. Eh? I thought the public were not being admitted to the campsite at all.
  6. Probably..... I suspect I used about 80 ltrs, certainly did about 10 miles.
  7. While the engines are being readied for test running, work is continuing on the turret. When the M10 was put into the playground, anything that junior could snag themselves on was removed and consequently the interior of the turret was stripped bare. We remade all of it and it has now been fitted back in place. These show the turret after blasting together with the fitted stowage for the six ready rounds, four Stens, dial sight, binoculars, grenades etc. etc.
  8. I was hoping to drive mine. I hope we have enough people to push them all to Dorchester.
  9. Many gun related canvas items had a CM prefix as well as some tools. Muzzle and breech covers as well as mop covers, spanners and cleaning brushes. While we are on the subject, I need a CM 6053 breech cover for my Cromwell. Anybody have one? :-)
  10. Not that there was ever any doubt as I know you know what you're doing but that was just what I needed to hear!
  11. The sight is for a 2 pdr tank gun and is quite common.
  12. I believe the short term intention is a return to running with a full restoration at a later date.
  13. I don't think much of the crane jibs on those series 4s, that radial only weighs half a ton and it's bent it! :-)
  14. I was getting worried until I saw the last item! Sorted!
  15. Brilliant, thanks Vince! I'll bring my adaptors, they should fit any US tank.
  16. Aah but the definition of frustration is a Hellcat behind three Shermans....:-)
  17. Could the owners let us know what kit they have on board? I'm getting quite a load together and don't want to have to bring hollebones etc if I don't need to though quite happy to bring adaptors to suit US towing lugs.
  18. I feel a Kelly's Heroes moment coming on.... Now, where's my flying helmet?
  19. Sounds good Jack, it's just most carnival parades move at a slow walking pace. Or are we just setting off with the parade in hot pursuit! Getting better all the time!:-D
  20. We are obviously not going to need any but....... How many recovery vehicles are attending and what kit do they have for tank towing?
  21. I agree! It is so rare to find a bit of history like that. I too am itching to make a start.....
  22. I think any explanation is more plausible than that...... just the way my mind works sometimes!:nut:
