  1. I think it is from a director for anti aircraft fire. There was a pair of elbow telescopes, one controlling elevation and one bearing.
  2. I doubt it, they had been welded on to something in the past so could have been a bit of added armour on anything, though it's certainly possible they fell off a Tiger. There was a lot of German armour on Lulworth and Pirbrite.
  3. I found sections of German half track tracks on the Plain in more than one size.
  4. Not being a purist Mike, just like having the right tool. I'm with you on that one.
  5. I'm sure you're right, that last video showed how close he was to clipping the displays. I would not have wanted to be amongst it.....
  6. Originally they used commercial tyres, there being no need for a traction tread on a non-driven wheel. Later, the desire to use a combat type tyre, i.e. a runflat required a bar tread as that was the only pattern available in a combat tyre.
  7. I'd still love one to go behind my M5 HST (or a 155 How) but they seem a lot of money for the worlds most useless trailer....! What do people feel is the right price for a project?
  8. It will run on either though on AVGAS you may need to advance the ignition. I would run it on normal unleaded autogas.
  9. That is the low coolant level warning light. Two floats in the header tank operate switches that illuminate the warning light and cut off the ignition. The mag reset switch is only for emergency use to enable the vehicle to be moved to a position of safety. You need to check the coolant level!
  10. Mine can be had for a couple of million.....
  11. I'd assumed it was a test to see if we were paying attention.........
  12. Bob will be pleased you call him a young lad!
  13. No, you have various radii of turn depending on selected gear just as in Comet , Cent et al with the MB design. However, the box achieves this by locking one epicyclic via the steering brake drum and using the speed change ratio to vary the relative track speeds. If the drums only rotated when the vehicle moved, you could not do a nuetral turn.
  14. It's a little compressor.....!
  15. Rick, the MB steering brakes are either on or off and when applied, the drum is held and does not rotate so efficiency is not really an issue. Stopping brakes are a different story but it's a Churchill so it never goes fast enough to need brakes......:-D
  16. I wouldn't hang the clutch unsupported like that for long Rick, it puts a heck of a strain on the sleeve.
  17. Not too hard to figure out who...!
  18. Not according to the forecasts I have just seen...... let's hope they are wrong!
  19. Some manuals do lie..... the Jeep TM tells you to put the pistons in the wrong way round.
