  1. That is very nice, good to have you aboard.
  2. I agree. The Z number checks out.The reg number, if I am right is the post war number allocated to vehicles. The disposal numbers are always a mystery to me, if only there was a list, you might find out the area it was disposed in, the TWN may suggest its are, like Twickenham for example. From what I remember there were 3 contratcs for the C8's all 1944 dated, but will have to dig out that info tomorrow, I think it was originally in Wheels and Tracks. Has it got a rebuild number on the chassis plate? You should find that ties in with the number on the record card, deciphering a bit of the mystery. And for what its worth, it cant have been in any worse condition than mine when I started!
  3. With photobucket, I need to do a bit of organising with my photobucket album and was creating new albums and was going to move pictures from where they were into there new place. I had a warning come up saying that direct links to the photos will be lost. Does that mean that if I move them about in the album to different folders the photos that Ive posted up on this forum will be unavailable for viewing? Secondly...On the old forum there was a button for marking posts as being read, there doesnt seem to be one on this anaemic new place, or am I just being stupid...
  4. Video footage from the discovery of HMAS Sydney from when it was first discovered using ROV's. Very eery and well worth a look. http://www.findingsydney.com/video.asp

  9. If you want to know about bio-fuel, then Im your man. Ive researched it, considered selling it, thought about running it, looked at commercial kit and home-grown kits. A lot of it depends on how old your vehicle is and what fuel system you run. Its more critical with modern vehicles than older ones. I wouldnt run a Landrover TD5 on Biofuel because of the hi-pressure fuel system and the fuel filters are extremely fine and expensive to replace. A Peugeot 106, 10 years old say, runs fine on it, with a regular filter change. Will post links up to some informative sites tomorrow.
  10. No worries, Im sure it will take a few weeks to get back to normal, but hopefully will be worth it in the long run. Sympathies and support to yerself and the mods. Psst...dont forget the Archaeology pages...
